Two people were hospitalized after overdosing on heroin Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, according to LaPorte Police.
Police were called to a home at 316 G St. at about 11 p.m. regarding the overdoses. When they arrived, they saw several people leaving the home from various exits.
Officers found a man and a woman lying unconscious in separate bedrooms in the home. The LaPorte County EMS responded and administered Narcan, a drug used to reverse the effects of heroin overdose. The two regained consciousness.
Police found evidence of drug use in the house, along with deplorable living conditions.
A man who had earlier gone to the house to check on a friend’s son said he saw more than 20 people, fighting.
Two people still in the home said they did not call police about the overdoses because they didn’t want to get in trouble.
